Every now and again something special takes you by surprise and that’s what happened when we were introduced by a friend to Optimo. This friend had a wonderful report about Optimo and its support and services while they were selling their house, so when we were ready to sell ours, we contacted Optimo.

This experience has been nothing but very positive throughout.  For slightly over $5,000 they had our property very professionally photographed and videoed, got an excellent script writer to prepare a script for on-line advertising, arranged for a Valuer to value our property and give a correct price range for selling and also someone to provide help to stage a couple of bedrooms when we were short of suitable furniture. They set up and displayed everything on Trademe for us and also displayed our property on the Optimo site.

We found that we could very readily get hold of Optimo either via mobile phone or their 0800 number and they were actually glad to have us regularly check in with them and let us know how things were going and they always made you feel like they had plenty of time to talk to you and offer some good ideas or support. If we emailed them, they would reply within the day with an answer.

When we showed people around our property most of them commented how much they liked being shown around by the actual owners and not having to deal with a real estate agent.  Even when we needed to discuss a sale price with a potential purchaser, it was so straight-forward to just talk about this face-to-face. Although we never had an occasion where we needed them to show someone around for us, they offered to do this for us if it was ever difficult for us to be there.

Because there was a video of our property available on the Trademe and Optimo sites, we did not have to show masses of people through, only those who left details on Optimo requesting that their name and mobile number be forwarded to us as Vendors, so that we could reply to their contact and arrange a suitable time to both parties for them to have a viewing.

We are amazed at what we have saved in the cost of real estate commission fees selling the property ourselves and actually it was fun!
